Heath Barnett

CEO

Heath Barnett grew up with the insurance business in his blood. Heath’s grandfather founded his insurance agency in 1986, when he was in his 50s and the country was in financial turmoil. During college, Heath was ready to accept a high-paying hospitality job in the Cayman Islands to make do, but he was presented with an opportunity that stopped him in his tracks—or so he thought. Heath’s granddad told him he was getting ready to sell the insurance agency and buy a ranch. He didn’t end up retiring from insurance in the end, but it was motivation enough to get Heath to stay stateside, take over his grandad’s business, and begin a career in insurance. Just before he stepped into this role, Heath met his wife, Ara: the sister of his future business partner, Randy Allen.

Heath was now a top agent for Farmers Insurance—he’d bought his grandpa’s Farmers agency and a separate independent agency as well—but he felt like there was something missing. He knew his earnings were limited and knew he could do better. He was ready to reinvest in himself and try something new.

Both experiencing the same pains, the two realized they could build something. With Heath’s insurance industry savvy and Randy’s generations-old business systems expertise, Legacy Insurance was born.
